About Mecktilder Mchomvu

Mecktilder Mbajo Mchomvu is a Tanzanian mining entrepreneur, youth leader, climate advocate, and social impact champion.

She is the Co-Founder of WoowMe Jewel, a gemstone jewellery brand focused on transforming locally mined Tanzanian minerals into fine jewellery for global markets.

She serves as Executive Secretary of Tanzania Women in Mining and Mineral Industry (TWiMMI) and is a key leader within the Council of African Youth in Minerals (CAYM), where she advocates for youth inclusion, gender equity, and responsible mining policies across Africa.

Recognised as one of the Top 100 Global Inspirational Women in Mining (2022) and recipient of the TZ Sheroes Award (2022), Mecktilder is widely respected for her leadership in small-scale mining, climate action, and women’s economic empowerment.

Beyond mining, she is a vocal advocate for climate resilience and sustainable development, ensuring women’s voices shape Africa’s environmental future.

Born at the foothills of Mount Kilimanjaro, her journey from village life to the global mining stage reflects a deep commitment to excellence, integrity, and African-led solutions.
